Hi, I'm Michael Andrade, owner of Highland Home & Garden. I'm a third-generation carpenter, following in the footsteps of my grandfather and father. My journey began as a framer in 1999, but the housing market crash of 2008 led me down a different path—I returned to college and earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics, graduating summa cum laude. After spending some time in the IT field, I realized my true calling was working with my hands, as my family has done for generations.
I decided to return to my roots, launching my own business specializing in finish carpentry and custom cabinetry. As my business grew I took a stronger interest in managing larger projects, leading me to expand into general contracting. Today, I help clients bring their visions to life, taking on builds with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
In addition to general contracting, I continue to hand-build authentic Finnish saunas—a tribute to my strong Finnish heritage. My goal is to create spaces that reflect the unique needs and stories of my clients, always staying true to the craftsmanship that has been part of my family for generations.
